Whitetail Doe
Bob lee recurve 53@28" (I draw 28")
Beman centershot 400 cut to 28.25"
Grizzly 185 glued on a 125 adapter (310 total weight)
75 grain brass insert
Total arrow weight was 675 grains
FOC = 28.96%
Shoots 155 FPS

Shot on doe was 21 yards from a tripod 10' up.  She was quartering slightly away from me towards her right.  She moved forward on the shot and the arrow entered the very back of her left side ribcage, and angled through her thorax exiting the back 1/3 of her right lung.  Complete pass through with arrow stuck in the dirt behind her.
She ran about 95 yards and dropped.  There was a moderate blood trail.  I cant figure out how to post pics!

Whitetail buck
TD D/R longbow 64" , 48#@28"
GT blem 500, stock insert,200 gr 3 blade VPA
Arrow weight 500ish grains
Shot from tree stand
22 yards
Deer was uphill so about 4' lower than stand
Entry lower than exit ??
Hit liver and maybe one lung, sorry was dark during autopsy
Penetrated both sides but not a complete stuck in the dirt, thinkin he was doing a duck/roll due to entry/exit locations...

150 est. yard recovery, great blood trail

You can see the exit behind my arrows in quiver , entry was 1/3 up from bottom of chest.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I guess I've learned more from the poor shots I've made.  Like the first doe I shot this year.  She was too close on the right...and then spooked n trotted to the left....I started drawing hoping she was gonna stop....she did and the arrow was gone- but my bottom bow limb hit the stand.  Pushed the arrow forward and low.  I could see the broken arrow and blood from the stand so I still thought I was ok.  I gave her 30 and started tracking.  Good blood then bbad blood then a pile and then not much.  Had to back track a few times to get back on blood.  It was tough through the tall field.  After 1.5 hrs and 350 or 400 yds probably I found her.  I had 3 entrance and exit wounds from the same arrow.  In and out high left leg - in chest out chest -back in right leg and then out.  Was a 4" gash inside the rib cage but really think it was just blood loss in general.  I was glad I had that tigershark on there.

4x4 bull elk. First shot broadside from about 20 yards passed through both lungs and exited the opposite side. He walked 10 yards seemingly not knowing he was shot. Second shot as he quartered away from me. Arrow entered low behind left shoulder and almost totally exited the front of his chest. Just 6" of my shaft left in body. Arrow passed through his heart. He staggered, fell over and kicked for a minute.

Approximately 215# boned out meat packed out on my back (& son-in-law) 7-1/2 miles to the trailhead. It took 2-1/2 days to get the meat and our camp packed out.

Stalker Stickbow Coyote longbow 52#@30", 31" Heritage 250 carbon shaft, 200 gr Cutthroat broadhead, four 4" fletch, 580 gr.

Great thread.  If there's one piece of info that might make some of us better/more successful hunters, it'd be to say what was the key thing you did right.  I have more hope of imitating that than the bow/quiver set-up.

Small whitetail buck for 2017.  12 yards from stand.  He offered a broadside I couldn't resist.

Red Wing Hunter (Head Ski era) of 58" & 49# and a 125 gr Mowoc Dot three-blade (of 1960 era) on a Douglas fir shaft.
