I feel that, with a tab, I am over drawing, and that leads to some lip slap. And when it slaps, it is a very painful pain.lol.
Try filming yourself in slowmo on your phone and see if you can see anything. That's how I noticed what was happening with me.

This was a very helpful thread. Matt, Thanks for posting this. I've been thinking that I need to trim my tab back but didn't know how far I should go.
I had a different problem when I shot my bow. Every few times I'd come to anchor, if I didn't hold my mouth right I'd get a sudden pain on release. Turns out that having a handlebar mustache is not conducive to archery.

That's very true! I know it catches my beard and mustache at times. I do believe the tab is a much cleaner release. I took my tab out and tried it again today. I have decent sized hands and have found that the best size that works for me is a small..

The size of the tab is really only important for the width. They will all be too long and need to be trimmed for length.
