im going to do the test run deal for sure. I gotta say, I absolutely LOVE both of my grizzly bows. But there's always been an allure to black widow for me.

I shot Widow recurves for a lot of years, but shoot the Widow longbows now because I prefer less mass weight. You can order a Widow without the phenolic in the riser and limb wedges which would lighten it some and I believe the Widow boys will "dehorn" the riser as well. Add a low wrist grip (my preference) with the above mentioned modifications and I believe you would shave off a good bit of weight. If I was to order a bow today it would be a 60" PSA with these mods. Enjoy your test drive! Mike

Well, I'm not going to be much help to you either...  In talking you down any way...  I'm more apt to talk you into the Widow...  I've got a longer draw, right at 30", and that will be the biggest difference you will see between the Grizzly and the PCH.  At your 29" draw a 58" PCH will be butter smooth!

When I made the final switch to traditional in 2000 it was a SA III that did it for me.  I've had a lot of different bows over the years, but the SA/PSA will always be my "standard" that all others are compared.

Recently I've also fallen for the PCH, little more compact overall package which is conducive to a hunting bow...  Here are the three I have now, a PSA, and 2 PCHs and the one PCH has two sets of limbs...

Low grips on all...  My personal preference...

And they make meat when asked...      ;)     First one this year...

My PCH is one of my three all time favorite bows.
Will not sell mine, I love the weight, it's a good looking bow, and it shoots very well.
Shot my first trad deer with it this year, its only 40 at 28, and I am using a 440 grain arrow moving at 165 fps, not super fast but it does the job, passed thru and stuck halfway up the broadhead in the tree the deer was standing in front of.
Try it, you will most likely buy it!

I looked at my buddy and said" what's up with that? I don't shoot that good." He said it's the mass weight. Now I'm saving my money. I shot several of their bows. I liked them all but I kept going back to the PAS. I'm still not sure I can be happy with that heavy of a bow. I might call and do,a test run for a week before I drop $1100.

Do,you widow guys mind that weight?
Thats a pretty good observation. My TD  is obviously heavier than my 1 piece, and it is easier to shoot better for me.

That said, I am dedicating the rest of the season to my 1 piece, it's a beautiful bow and I love the light weight.

I'm a fan of widows and will likely be ordering a new one. I'm a little different I guess than other guys but I like the bow to have as much mass weight as possible. I move the PMA for this reason. I shoot heavy mass weight bows better. My next bow will likely be a PMA and I'll ask them to make it out of the heaviest woods they can get ahold of. Now this is what I like for whitetail hunting which is primarily what I do. If I were doing a lot of elk hunting or something like that I might want something a little lighter.
