Hildebrand's - out of business?
« on: October 18, 2017, 01:19:00 PM »
Per my recent post, I've been exploring & researching getting back into wood arrows. Most familiar with Sitka spruce shafts from Hildebrand's but when I've tried calling them I get nuthin'... are they still in business? Anyone have updated contact information or alternative (good) suppliers? Would prefer to buy direct from the supplier if possible...
thanks,
Randy

Yeah... didn't know how recent their website information was. Tried both phone numbers and only get a "full mailbox" message. Be too bad to lose them as a supplier...

I’ve tried for months to contact them with zero replies, they must be out of business or it’s just bad business!

Suspect there might be some health issues with either Neil or Roxanne, they are not young people.

In the mean time Sitka Spruce can be purchased elsewhere like Raptor Archery and 3 Rivers to name just a couple. IMO, Sitka Spruce would be my choice of Douglas Fir, although if one insists on DF then Surewood would be my choice.

3 Rivers is importing from a local guy here.  I highly recommend them. Best sitka spruce I have ever shot. Shot it into frp boards and other very harsh tests they don't break and they stay straight. Uses the older dowling machines so they are always perfectly round.
They are labeled "Premium Sitka Spruce Wood Shafts" On 3rivers.

Also before I discovered locally I was in contact with Hildbrand.  This is copy and past directly from my email

"Hi Ari,

We have been delayed due to my Mom, Roxane having two strokes and both Neil
and Roxane's medical issues. We have now brought in another employee who
worked for us before. It is just time to bring him up to speed.  We have
been absolutely swamped. I wanted to let you know we have not forgotten you.
We will be back in touch once we have what you are requesting and Robert
will indeed answer your questions.

Piles of Smiles & Kind Regards,

Angela Hildebrand "

They brought back Robert I am unsure if I am allowed to post his email here...  it is different than Neil's so PM me if interested
