Has anyone had this experience with a bow quiver?

So this weekend I got a slide on bow quiver. Its the first time I have ever tried one. I love how convenient it is and how it quiets the bow down but when I shoot with it I get terrible arm slap from the string.When I take it off there is no contact at all. In fact I shoot with no arm guard. As soon as I put it back on its slapping my wrist again. Has anyone had this experience?

that happened to me,,, I have to remove them from my bows when I get to where I'm going to hunt from especially if I'm sitting ,,, the final straw was when I had a nice deer com in and I went to bring the bow up and the fletching on the arrow  in the bow quiver scraped against my leg and spooked the deer that was the final straw,,, best thing for carrying arrows just not for me when the shooting happens 8^(

X2 on the fade outs... Usually in the proper place, with a LOOSE grip, the bow will tend to torgue away from your arm.

Not that exact result, however, I do have 1 bow that simply WILL NOT shoot well with a quiver on it.  I have 9 bows (mix of recurves and long bows) all set up and tuned in ready to hunt, even though I only hunt with 1 or 2 generally.  I use a bow quiver on all of them.  However, I have a customer D/R long bow that simply goes berserk when you put a quiver on it.  I've tried Selways, Thunderhorn, GN, Kanati, and Eagle's Flight at multiple points and positions.  It loses it's mind with a quiver on it - period.

Never had that issue but with a quiver on bow it changes balance....I would think it may not be mounted low enough on limbs into the non working area of the limbs.  I have seen them torque away from you with a loose grip...but not towards arm.  Another thing is with the extra weight you are locking your elbow instead of keeping it slightly bent.

Another view... when using a bow with no quiver, I tend to pull and keep my bow hand very loose.  It finds its place in my hand.  With a quiver and arrows, and all that extra weight, I tend to hold on to the bow while pulling, to keep it from twisting.  That hanging on MIGHT place your hand in a different location on the handle and place your arm in jeopardy of the string.  maybe....

I don't tend to lock my elbow either way ( I don't believe I do anyway.)

after thinking about my original problem I remember now that the quiver based on my post above I had was those little 2 arrow bow quivers I forgot the name but I remember the strap set up they had didn't really lock down good on the gloss finished bow I had the rubber would slide on the riser then the top of the quiver would spin...  

never had that problem again using other quivers.

sometimes it takes time to get used to. some guys despise shooting with a bow quiver but I prefer it. I feel the little added weight helps me keep my bow arm up after the shot..which seems to be the opposite for some. I always shoot with a bow quiver because that's how I hunt. good luck figuring out what works for YOU because that's all that matters.

My guess is you shoot with a very loose grip/open hand.  If so, the added weight of the quiver causes to bow to turn in your hand at the shot. Just gripping the bow a little tighter, not a death grip, should solve the problem.
