Arrow weight for 40# bow question

I'm shooting 500 gold tip warriors with weight tubes I bought from 3Rivers. And using woodsman 145. My total weight is 490. My arrows are flying 6-8 inches to the RIGHT. When I shoot an unweighted arrow My left and right are good. I'm a left handed shooter so I'm assuming that the wighted arrows are too stiff bc of the tubes?... any suggestion guys?...

Right impacts indicate stiff ( unless false weak) easily veified with playing w point weight.  If your goal is increased weight for hunting, i would recommend ditching the weight tubes and tuning for a heavier head and higher foc.  I have experimented with lighter weight arrow head combos in 40# bows with poor penetration.  A higher foc has made a great differece for me.

The tubes will increase spine.  I'm a lefty too.  Your weighted arrows are stiff.  You'll have to add point weight to compensate or go down an arrow spine and try again.  I tried them for a spell and they just gave me fits and only worked decent if I used them with higher draw weight bows where I was trying to achieve a very heavy, high point weight arrow, that was when I was playing with high draw weight big game setups as a fun experiment.  I abandoned the tubes.  I really don't think they are worth messing with unless you're trying to build 6 or 700+ grain arrows for 60,70 or more pound bows.

If you're shooting 40# 490 ought to be "enough".  You just need to redesign how you get there.  If all the weight is in the shaft and not enough in the tip you'll get crappy flight and penetration.

I have been hunting with a 40# bow and really like the flight of weight-foreword arrows. I shoot aluminum arrows with 250 grain points-650 grains total. They penetrate great (20" on an elk and zipped right through a bear and into a log).
