Dentures and diaphragm calls

Hello guys, I don't wear dentures but I thought id pass this along. I was at the feed store this morning and was yaking with a couple ole timers. The one fellow was asking about diaphragm type calls and if he could still use them once he got his full upper set of dentures, the other fellow told him yea he had been using them for years and he wore a full set of dentures. I wont mention the brand he spoke of but he said his had a little bump on there that went up, he had to turn it down and then it worked perfect. Something about the dentures didn't have as much give as the roof of your mouth, said he could call in the fox and yotes from three county's over. Me personally I love calling to predators with a mouth call, works great for fox and yotes around here while hiding in the bushes. just thought id pass that on to any one who wore dentures and was thinking about it.

John, what type of call do you use? Rabbit, etc?

My favorite is rabbit in distress, seems to work well every were. But around here we have a large population of feral cats so if you can learn a kitten meow or cat in distress the yotes and fox will darn near kill themselves trying to get to you. Ive done ok with puppy wines, high pitched rodent squeaks and fawn bleats but the cat and rabbit are my best producers. That maybe due to the fact that ive never put the effort into perfecting puppy sounds and deer bleats like I have rabbit and cats. I figure if you find their main prey in an area and imitate that that's what usually works best, which all that depends on time of year and location. What do you use?

What I find one of the absolute best prey wise is turkey sounds. There's not one turkey caller that's called for more than a few years that's not turned around to see a coyote sneaking in.
Course what guys forget to mention is all hunting is like reading a book. Seasons change and you gotta turn a page.
During coyote breeding season I'd use challenges from other coyotes most often

Glad you mentioned that Bowguy67, you are absolutely correct on both counts. But I suck at turkey calls. Got lots of them around here need to start practicing before the season sneaks up on me.
