Had a carbon arrow blow on me today. The lucky part is, my bow seems okay, and all I got out of it was a nasty bruise on my bicep.
Here's the stupid part: Was shooting some long shots in the yard, just for kicks and grins. Had my little block target sitting on a plastic, outdoor table. I shot a low one from about 45 yards, and hit the lip of the table. The arrow, a CX Heritage 150, stuck through the table, right up to the fletching. Well, I pulled it, and THOUGHT I'd looked it over good for damage. Didn't hear any telltale cracking sounds when I'd pulled it, and the shaft looked fine. My big mistake was not paying enough attention to the back end of the shaft.
