Mandarin Duck Bows???
« on: December 23, 2017, 08:08:00 PM »
Has anyone heard of, or tried any Mandarin Duck bows? I saw a young lady using one in a YouTube video and looked them up. The riser design on their "Black Hunter" model looks well designed, and they're quite low-priced. So I thought I'd see if anyone here has tried one. I also can't tell if they're American made or not, but if so, they look like they could be a strong competitor for Samick's "Sage" models. Any info would be great. (Although, for the $130 price tag, I may just try one out anyway...)

seen same video, they are made in china.  From the little research I did, the quality control isn't there.  Personally, I buy American, as it is still the best.  Samick with nice second and a way to get someone started.  Bearpaw makes great bows too.  Other than that, I would not touch it.

I spent over four years in China...and, as Toddster sez...There is no (little) quality control (on things like this)...and, more importantly...no remedy.

Watch and listen carefully to the guy's pitch.  He is sitting next to a blazing hot fire in a tee shirt and shorts, in summer discussing the amazing differences between maple and bamboo limb cores...

I doubt you'd be able to tell the difference.  I have built longbows in the same form with the only difference being maple and bamboo cores.  Honestly, I can't feel or in any other way realize the difference.

Could be a deal...YMMV     :saywhat:

Search for Twig Archery on YouTube.  You will find several videos about that bow, and a lot of useful information.  Be sure to watch the ones that are a couple of years old, and the latest, put up very recently.
