I like clear fletchlaq dip for wood shafts. And had been using it on unstained shafts, over crests or cap dips...etc
I got a new bottle of Three Rivers Alcohol based stain and applied that to the shafts prior to dipping. When I dipped the shafts a day later the stain really ran off into the dip tube. It makes a really nice looking finish on the arrows. The grain shows nice and the color is warm. But I no longer have clear fletchlaq. If I would want to use is on something else or over cresting.
Just wondering if all stains do that or just the alcohol based?
There is now enough color in the dip tube that I could almost combine the stain and finish into one step!
Thanks,
Tedd
