Shoots in Germany in July?
« on: January 31, 2018, 09:44:00 AM »
I'll be visiting Germany this summer. Four days of a family reunion and then some spare time.

I know we've had some German shooters here on Trad Gang and wondering if there are any shoots between the end of July and 6th of August that would justify bringing a bow.

Check out   www.bogenschiessen.de     They are a traditional archery magazine in Germany. Maybe they'll have info on shoots this summer.

Hubi has passed a while ago.
Bladespeek, please PM me as I need to know details where you would be going for that reunion.
Shoots are often booked out month in advance. It is not a come, pay and shoot scenario as it is with most 3D shoots here. There are also a lot of 3D courses which are open to the public(for a fee), but you can shoot them on your own. You go there, there is a 3D course registration book where you put your name in, then there are envelopes you put the fee in and then you can go shoot. Some courses require to contact someone beforehand or the tickets are sold in local shops/local restaurant. If it is close to someone I know, there may be a chance to hook you up with someone local.

Thanks Roland. I sent you a PM. My plans are pretty open at this point, but my wife's family will probably try to nail me down for some of that time.
My wife was German. Killed in a car accident last April and her family all came here for the funeral.

Hubi, good news you have not yet expired    :)    Everyone around here thinks I'm dead too, but I'm just older and moving slower. I used to enjoy the posts by you and the Dutchman.

Vielen Dank Roland.

The reunion will be in Seelbach near Lahr in the Black Forest. I also will be visiting Weil Im Schoenbuch and Boeblingen where we used to live.

Ron, I live in the near of Frankfurt so Schoenbuch and Boeblingen is about 2 hours away...so it is close.
I will find an open 3d range in the middle.
You are very welcome and also invited for a BBQ if you would like.
As soon as I have more information I will send you a PM.
