Just started this year. Wish I had bought a few a long time ago.

I've got two of them.  They do the weekday scouting for me while I'm stuck behind a desk dreaming of the weekend hunt.

Can't be beat for keeping track of things when you aren't there. I have a friend who finally broke down and got a good one, Cuddeback, and in the last two days he discovered  he has a nice 8 pointer and a gagger 10 pointer coming in to his stand. My wife and I just purchased some property that we cannot get to as much as we would like to this year so the trail cams have us "educated" about what is currently going on in our neck  of the woods. Nice big bodied 8 pointer and a very large doe, at least one anyway, near Laura's stand. I know there are more animals than we are seeing but the cameras do not lie about what they see.

I was talking to an outdoor photographer/writer a couple weeks ago.  He kept calling them "surveillance cameras".  I thought that was pretty funny.  Don't get me wrong, he said it in a good natured way and that's the way I intend it.  I've seen some neat pictures from them.

I've been using them for over ten years. Some are film cams and some are digital cams. I even have three that I built myself. They are a great scouting tool, it lets me be in more than one place at a time, sort of.

Its a Moultrie I40 It takes color pics during the day and B&W infrared pics during low light and at night. I've had it since August. Its taken over 2,500 pics and the battery meter still reads 49-50%. I've had several different makes of trail cam and I think this one is a best buy for the money ($220). Plus the infrared doesn't spook game (although I've found no proof that flash models spook game either). The buck in the picture above, I have 17 pictures of him in one day!.

love em! I was in my stand a few mornings ago before dawn. I have a cam overlooking a scrape about 18 yds from my stand. Had the pleasure of watching a yearling 8pt get his pic taken....never bothered him a bit(regular flash).

I have a Leaf river cam out that has taken over 3000 pictures so far. I to was in a stand (pre dawn), and had 6 deer come in to have there pictures taken. I found the same as TraperDave, they didn't even twitch when the flash went off. I don't know what they think it is, but they act like nothing ever happened.  :archer:

Took some pics of some small bucks a few evenings back with the flash on and they never even looked up.
