Last day in PA
« on: November 10, 2007, 08:07:00 PM »
Well, today was the last day for PA archery, though I can still use the bow during rifle season. So, it was cold and rainy/snow mix. Deer were moving but no shots for me. Well, there are a lot of other excuses to be out with the bow now. I still have some time left in Jersey. It's been a fun season.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

I always dredd the end of bow season. I'm really thinking hard about hunting with my bow during the gun season, i have a few spots in mind that you cant shoot a gun but the bow would be good. I'm certain they will fill up with deer   :bigsmyl:

Not over here in 5C. We have 2 more weeks of archery season for doe only. I have been hunting only with a bow for the last 20 years. If you need a gun here in Pa. Must be pretty bad hunting in your area. Let the doe live to get the numbers up so you have something to hunt with the bow. It's all about protecting your hunting spot so you have something to hunt in the future.

Jerry you didn't miss much on this side of the river. Bad weather kept most of the pheasant hunters indoors. Bucky did wack one at 7:30 and saw 6 others drew back on two others he said he could of shot "counted coup" I saw nothing. We will be back up there tomorrow if everything goes well. I have a bud that wants to check out the area with a friend. They will be pheasant hunting with the dogs . Let me know if your interested. Pm me and I'll give you my #.

Hey brother,
I totally forgot you were working Fri. night and could not come out with me Sat. morn. Glad you were able to get out a bit though. Sure was nice to be out with some snow(finally) on the ground.

Sat the cold blind in the A.M. and boy you sure can tell small game opened, it sounded like some kind of war reenactment going on down there. But hey that was cool 'cause a bunch of deer came up from all the comotion. Unfortunately no shots.

My favorite time is coming. Winterfest - the late bow season. Less hunters, maybe some snow, and the deer are still around. You just have to work a little harder.

I was fortunate to take a buck on the 30th but went out with my son on the last day.  He had set two stands on his property and, of course, the buck comes in to me and he ended with tags unpunched.  It was a great season and I look foward to bear season next and then gun season.  The bows will still be out for all of them.
