Hunting with a clicker?

For a long time I have been fighting "target panic", "fear of missing", "premature release", or whatever you call it.

I don't think you'll have any problems. Hunting is the best time to use the clicker. You can dampen them down to where they are virtually inaudible, but you can feel them go off. Do you have it mounted out near the tip?

You can reposition it even nearer the tip, say 2 1/2 more inches and thereby shorten up the cord more. You can use moleskin to silence it. If you split the string and put the cord through, you don't need to tie it or wrap it around the string, the tension will hold it in place. Don't worry, it won't slip. Just mark the string with a permanent marker, so you can get back to the mark and do a quick eye check. Leave enough tail to be able to grab it with needlenose pliers. That'll let you make fine tuning adjustments with the clicker in place and the bow strung. 150# braided Tuff Line is a good diameter, won't stretch and is very light. A marine supply or tackle shop should be able to let you have a few feet of it and you'll never need to worry about abrasion or stretch.

Have those of you who use the clicker near the tip had any problems getting it adjusted, or keeping it adjusted, so that it clicks at the proper draw length?  The reason I ask is because I have mine further down, and notice that a rather small change in the length of the line (say a 1/8" change) might result in a larger change in draw length (say a 1/2" change).  I would assume this difference increases the closer you get to the tip?

Not true...just the reverse in fact. It decreases, the closer you get to the tip. Threading it through the string without tying it makes it possible to fine tune the adjustment with the bow strung under tension.
