question for monitors
« on: November 11, 2007, 01:23:00 PM »
Just wondering if posts about loosing a deer are all being locked out?  I see mine was and also another one.

Neither had anything horrible in them just the truth.

Even though it's hard to deal with loosing a deer (I'm about ready to hang up my bow over the episode I had) it really is a fact of life regardless of the type of weapon.  I posted mainly to share my misery and "get it out" a little.

Just thought I'd ask.  Didn't think we were so PC here.
Dave

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Dave,

Storys about gut shot deer not being recovered have been locked down for as long as I can remember.  Yours sounded like you bumped him when you went to get the arrow.  With a suspected liver hit you need to back out for at least 4 hours.  They will be in the first bed within 100 yds or so.  If you bump em they walk away and will be hard to recover.

Anyway not PC, just not allowed.

No problem Mike, just never noticed before and I can understand it.

By the way, might as well delete this whole post as it was most a private question.

Dave and others, Too many "lost one" , and posting about "bad hit,but I'm going back to look" type threads going on lately. I and a lot of other don't see the need or feel it does any good for our sport to have a board full of these.

Believe me,I've been there(most of us have), but there's no need to post it for the world to see. Things like these are best kept between good friends, in private. That's the best way to "share your misery",and "get it out".

To everyone that's had trouble,
Hopefully your next encounter will work out better....good luck!

Well said Mike....
