what about your other 2 fingers?
« on: August 21, 2007, 04:35:00 PM »
So after all the threads about 3-under vs split finger, and deep hook vs. shallow hook.... what do you folks generally have your other 2 fingers doing?  Does the way that those two fingers are held affect release?  Do many of you also use the pinky & thumb as part of your double-anchor philosophies?
Just curious!

I put the bottom of my thumb over my pinky nail and pull untill there behind my jaw bone to help me judge (or try and keep consistent lol) draw length.

I keep my thumb parallel with my string fingers and my thumb lightly touches my cheekbone.  I think you have to do something consisitent with those fingers or it will affect your shot accuracy.  Every once in a while I'll get lazy and leave the thumb down and my shot will wind up a little left.

after awhile the double anchor will become a single anchor don't really know about other fingers if your hand is stait they should line up almost touching each other Ralph

I put the thumb under my jaw bone where the jaw line starts to go up.  Hard to explain, but is a great second anchor, at least for me.

I used to wrap the thumb over the pinky, but seem to have less tension in my hand shooting more open-handed, ala F. Bear.  Now it's middle finger in the corner of my mouth, nose against back of cock feather, thumb resting on temple, pinky under jawbone. The only bad thing is I'm out of excuses for not hitting anchor (unless I forget to count to 4)!
