I got my SRF Sight Universal Mount yesterday, and switched over from the stick-on mount I had been using to test the sight.
I found that due to the much greater width of the universal mount, I could not get enough windage adjustment to bring my arrows into the center of the aperture. The length of the threaded sight rod is about 1-1/4", and it appeared I needed about 1/2" more to get on target and allow enough length for the outside knurled nut to tighten down well.
By a happy coincidence,in one of my tackle boxes I had a couple of 2.5" threaded rods that matched the one used with the SRF Sight.
It was just a couple minutes work to apply a touch of heat to the sight rod, remove it, and screw in a longer rod with Red Lock Tite applied to the threads.
In short order, I was sighted in and back in business. When I finshed shooting I used a Dremel to cut the excess rod off at 2", and cap the exposed end with an extra brass knurled nut from my tackle box.
I sent DAS an email outlining the issue and my fix, and suggesting a slighly longer rod be used on the sight or offered as an option.
Thought I would pass this on for anyone who intends to try the SRF Sight...
