longbow- glove hand release/string problems
« on: November 05, 2007, 10:15:00 PM »
I'm 6 mos new to trad archery and I love it. Wondering? I shoot two fingers under and one above, where on the inside of my fingers should I place the string to produce most accurate release?
Any/all input from the experienced much appreciated.

For me I use a deep hook,I hook at the first joint on my index finger, between the first and second joint on the middle finger and the first joint on my ring finger.Using a deep hook gives me a great release,it allows the back of your hand to be more relaxed then a finger tip hold.It makes drawing a heavier bow feel easier to draw.

Thanks JRY309. Sounds logical to me. I will try that tomorrow when I'm at the range. I shoot a 50# so it's not that heavy but if it works for you hopefully it will for me. I just didn't know if there was a formal technique or if you just find what works best for the individual.
Thanks again,
Kind regards- Jim
