Right Arrow Opinions...
« on: November 14, 2007, 08:20:00 PM »
Bow is 45Lbs@28". I draw to 30.5". I'm shooting 2117 arrows with 145gr tips.

I just started shooting again after letting my shoulder heal. Things have been going good so far, but when I put it down for a while it seems like I was still in the process of fine tunign my arrows.

Thanks,

Brian

Assuming that you achieved the tune in the first place, the culprit will most often be something we are doing that makes the arrow not go to the spot we want.  Like my friends like to remind me, "it is the loose nut on the bow", most often refering to me.

That bow will only change a little, we change a lot. Our mental attitude, fatigue, and variations in our bodies response to our enviorment.

I have experience what you are talking about, I don't have it as often as I once did, but I found that when it happens I am far less likely to change things in my equipment.

I most often will look at my form, and I will be darned if I didn't find something I was doing wrong.

Maybe they are right, it was the loose nut on the grip on the bow again!

If I recall correctly, I was shooting a pair of 2016 arrows cut about 30". I just dont remember. I know the 2117 come out quite stiff on the arrow charts. I'll have to start messing around again and try and bareshaft a few arrows.

Thanks,

Brian

Well, for what its worth. I put 175gr tips on the 2117's the bare shafts hit with the fletched ones. I also found some notes that were leaning to a 2016 arrow with 125gr tips.

2018's with 125gr points are the correct arrows for your setup. Cut 31.5"
