Masters of the Barebow Vol 2
« on: November 13, 2007, 10:28:00 AM »
Finished watching Masters of the Barebow Vol 2 and Darryl/Denny did another great job putting this together. As did all those who participated.

Everything is in here from the highly methodical precision aiming methods to the more fluid and graceful instinctive styles, as well as different methods of tuning equipment.

Was a real pleasure watching Steve Fausel shooting his longbow. Smooth, fluid, and accurate. Watching him shoot reminded me of some of Georges poems. Only thing better than watching Steve shoot would be shooting a bow yourself.

Darryl/Denny, where the heck you guys gonna go from here?

I cant wait to see it , we ordered a bunch but dont have them yet. The first one has been great to sell to my customers that want to improve, as well as new folks in the sport to show there is not just one way.

Yes Vol. 2 is great. One of my favorite segments is the arrow tunning. Nice to actually see it and not just read how its supposed to happen.

If there is not a Vol 3 I hope Darryl an Denny do something else. They make great videos.

Just got Volume 1.  Wow, talk about a wealth of good info.  It bordered on overload, I had to stop it halfway through to absorb what I had seen to that point.

Volume 2 is definitely on my "must have" list!...

i would like to thank denny and darryl for another great  video.  vol. 1 and vol. 2 are my archery coaches.  other than one or two books, these are what taught me.  my favorite part of vol 2 was larry yien and his gap shooting.  it looks so smooth it could be purely instinctive.  barry wensal is an instincetive master and has many things that people can learn.  thanks again!!!

I'm really enjoying my copy. I'm getting more out of this one than I did vol.I. I consider the 1st one to be a good primer, and vol 2 is the "meat".
Ditto the sentiments of Tom on Steve Fausel's shooting. It's like butter. :)
I really REALLY liked the arrow tuning section, all three aspects.
Although I don't see myself seriously using string-walking, I found that segment very interesting.

Now, Larry Yien's recorded tutilage has changed my shooting. For the better. I watched his segment the most. I got my first of what would have been a robin hood with trad gear after watching this vid. Granted Mr. Jenkins covered gap in vol 1, but for some reason it didn't click in my dense head until now.
I say "would have been a robin hood" because I was shooting hex blunts at my faux deer when the point-to-nock contact was made.
The nock on the first arrow was smashed and the unibushing was driven into and then popped out of the carbon shaft. I use unibushings in these humongous CX shafts  :) .

Thanks for a GREAT vid.
