Tail of arrow kicking right
« on: February 08, 2008, 05:55:00 PM »
Shooting right handed I find all sorts of info on if the tail of arrow kicks up, drops low, kicks left, but I never see anything on tail kicks right then straightens out.  Is this strictly a release problem or are there other factors, brace height, spine ect.?

The most common reason would be that your arrow shaft is too stiff.  Do you mean it straightens out with a fletched arrow?  That would be normal, as the fletches are doing their job.  I would be surprised if it would straighten out with a bare shaft.  If your arrow shaft is too stiff, you can increase your point weight or try an arrow with a weaker spine.

If your arrows are tuned for the bow, another reason could be nocks that are too tight.  If you nock an arrow and let it hang from the string, you should be able to tap the string and the arrow should fall off.
