Been messing around with anchor points, and I have been anchoring with my middle finger in the corner.....but thought about it a little and decided to try my middle finger on my cheeck bone thinking the arrow closer to my eye should help right??  Then nailed 2 arrow in the concrete basement wall  :knothead:   was it wrong to think that would help?

Did you miss your intended target to the left? (I am assuming you are right handed)

I would think that anchor would put your elbow very high and out of alignment; I doubt you can handle as much draw weight with it.  Lots of three under shooters anchor with the middle finger at the corner of the mouth, and this puts the arrow high on the cheekbone, under the eye, and allows sighting down the shaft.  I think you will find the middle finger/corner of the mouth anchor gives you a smoother pull and better release.  Paul.

The thing to remember when developing an anchor is...the higher the anchor, the more effort it takes to mantain good back tension. My personal anchor is a balance between reduced gap and a low enough anchor to achieve good back tension and maintain it through the shot.

I originally shot my old compoundmiddle finger nder chheek bone.  Then got glasses and had to drop down to index at corner of the mouth.  Now I am shooting a recurve and have contacts so moved back up.  Now that I shoot three under tha puts the space between teh two finger tips rigt on the cheek bone.  I find that I am shooting very well this way, but might try to move back down and see if it helps with thhe back tension.
