Form Video Input Welcome

I've been steadily improving over the past year and a half. Getting better seems to be coming in baby steps now, as expected. I think now is the time for somebody other than me to have a look and give me some input. I know I have gotten alot of help here already...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I hope this video works:

When I compare your video to mine yours looks like you are toatally in control. Look at spot, raise bow, draw bow and realease.  Reminds me of an animal moving in the woods.  Each step calculated.  In contrast my video looks like I am playing a game of hot potato.  I can still hit what I'm shooting at but deffinately two different styles of shooting.

All of your movements looked the same.  Very consistant.

Thanks, Pac...I played around with a lot of different styles and watched alot of video of great shooters...then tried to use some of what I saw in different ones... I still have a ways to go but I'm becoming more confident in my shooting...I'm just at a point where I can't tell exactly what I need to work on to get better...

Hi WB. OK, I like seeing you in the thrid stage of the video,thats a good angle. You are doing the whole draw and release in 2 distinct steps.After a year or more its time to smooth it to one continued motion.On the anhcor/release just concetrate on keeping it on the face,your flying away a little bit here. I dont know what length the arrows are b ut I see almost 3 inches protruding past the bow.You could shorten them several inches .Dont know if your basing youre draw on the length of those shafts but your at least 2-3 inches shy .(Thats ok as long as you know).Otherwise keep up the great work.(ps- if you nock above the string nocking point you can load an arrow without looking at what your doing -in hunting thats important.

Thanks for the input...I'm gonna try to clean up my release more...those arrows are the old pc carbon and they have an outsert that is 2 inches long...that's the reason for the overhang, plus they fly like bullets, so i haven't had to shorten them up any. the way I measure my draw length is I will have someone observe while I shoot...I have them specifically watch how much arrow is hanging past the riser, that's where my figure on draw length came from.

Sounds good Dave. If you watch Howard Hill closely on some of his taped movies study the one where he is in camp with the other archers haveing a contest to see who does the camp chores. Theres a nice closeup shot of his anchor and release.Its on this web site .I would also measure the draw length by the yardstick in the chest method since this cant "lie".Place it into the upper chest and with both arms reach out and see where the tip of the two middle fingers touch .

Using the yardstick method I get 29 1/2"...I  seem to be a little more compressed using a trad bow as opposed to the compound. Thanks
