Does anybody else....
« on: October 22, 2008, 09:44:00 PM »
does anybody else shoot with just two fingers? I put my index finger above, and middle finger below the nock. I've tried 3 under and 3 finger split, but this just seems to work for me..also does anybody else NOT need an armguard?     my bow arm is always straight with my wrist lined up but my old bear grizzly never slaps my forearm.  I have to wear one with my martin longbow though. Any input???

I've tried it for awhile and went back to 3 split.
I  don't need an arm guard for string slap, I wear one in case an arrow breaks on release. You should too...or you will wish you did when it happens.

LA,
I agree with Mike about the armguard being as much for protection from a broken arrow as anything else.  It's a simple precaution.  As for drawing with two fingers, anything that works is okay.  Depending on the strength of your fingers you may find that if you go up in draw weight you might prefer to spread the pressure over three fingers instead of two but that's up to you.

No arm guard here except when I am wearing bulky clothing.
