Push Release?
« on: November 25, 2008, 10:00:00 PM »
Hey Gang,
anyone ever tried the techniques from this video to remedy target panic?  Is the video worth the money for the technique?  Does it really work as well as advertised?  Thanks Gang, Matt

I had a fellow give me the video and I passed it on to another person in need or I would have sent it to you.  It probably isn't worth buying.  It is pretty simple.  First you have to get to where you can hold on target at full draw.  You don't release until you have drawn your middle finger a little further back.  It is basically like holding at full draw and then expanding the draw just a little before you release.  This is how Rod Jenkins describes his form in Masters of the Barebow.  Hope I haven't jumbled it up to much.  It did help me to some extent but wouldn't say it is a cure all.  Good Luck.

I bought the DVD and tried it. It will help with target panic no doubt but seemed to cause me to lose accuarcy on longer shots. Though it did help give a good controlled release, I was looking for something to help game panic. Targets dont bother me but live game makes me lose my mind!!! It did not help there. For shooting around the yard though, its a jewel!!

I thought it was worth it to look at the DVD and learn the system.  What it did was show me that I can control when the arrow is released, rather than it being a big mystery.  Once I discovered that, I didn't need to use the push release system anymore, but I think the experience improved my shooting.

I have the DVD. I would agree with McDave. If you are interested in seeing it get me your adress and I will send it to you. All I ask is when you are done send it back or to someone else that wants it.
