Rest Wear ???
« on: May 05, 2009, 10:37:00 AM »
When the outer part of the rest (on the shelf) is showing excessive wear, what is that an indication of?  I have a longbow that I recently started shooting 3 under.  It has velcro material for the shelf and sideplate.  My arrows are flying great, but it has completely worn thru the outer part of the shelf material.

Probably the fletch rubbing.  Nock height may still be a tad low.

I believe an arrow that is too stiff may cause that as well.

I was having this exact problem with my longbow when I switched to shooting 3 under. At the advice of others on this forum I increased my nock height and have had no wear issues since.
