Rough shooting lately
« on: June 25, 2009, 01:21:00 AM »
For a while I had convinced myself that I was shooting pretty well, but for the last couple of months I'd say may shooting has been pretty crappy.  No pattern to it either.  One group may be on, then 3 off.  Pretty frustrating.  I'm probably thinking about too many things when it comes to my form.  Even when my shooting is awful, If I just pull up and shoot the darn arrow without any hesitation or thought I will usually drill what I am aiming at.  Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Man I know what you mean.  I will be shooting great for a long time and then it will just all go to c@#$.  Even with a compound, same with golf I tried that for a couple years.  I know target panic creeps in on me from time to time.  I just have to just work on my form and aiming and it all comes back eventually.  I know if I try to shoot to much or to many arrows I start having problems.  I went to a 3D shoot the other day and having a nice brake in between shots really helped and I shot great really surprised my self.  I have just been shooting one arrow at a time on my targets at home and go pull it and shoot again.  A lot of guys suggest that up close blank bale shooting when problems creep in, might help. I just work real hard on every shot and just shoot one arrow at a time when I have trouble and I usually snap out of it. Good luck bud

Is it possible your string could have stretched or you changed something and need to retune?
