bow shot fine...now grouping right
« on: June 29, 2009, 11:15:00 PM »
my hoyt gamemaster2 shoots 2018s fine...paper tune perfect...well i paper tuned some beman ics 400's full length. they showed a hair weak....i mean barely...i figured the fletching would stiffen them up. well i now consistantly shoot right. im a right hand shooter, the bow is setup to shoot off the shelf. what gives??

I'm assuming you mean that your 2018s shoot where you want and your bemans shoot to the right?  I would shoot them mixed together to make sure its not a form issue.  Are you wanting both sets of arrows to shoot the same?  If so you may need to lower point weight on your beamans or cut them off a little bit at a time to stiffen.  I personally would pick one arrow or the other and tune them to shoot bh and fp where I pointed the bow.

Good luck

well i gap shoot and of course the gaps are different with different arrows....so i can aim at the bulleye and it will always hit to the right. like i said though they paper tune fine....could it be that the carbons are skinnier and i have to build out the sideplate??

Yes, you could adjust centershot with the sideplate.  That is what I would do unless I intended to continue shooting the 2018's.

i think thats it because the hoyts are cut so far past center. i had to build it out alot for the 2018s...so i could imagine the carbons would need it to ...since they are skinnier

What is your feather position?  Will changing it make a difference?

tried that...and nothing changed. and i was looking at the center shot with a 2018 sitting on the string and the 2018s are almost centered, just a hair to the left of the string when looking from behind the bow. the bemans are dead centered.
