formaster question
« on: September 16, 2009, 12:26:00 PM »
Sorry about this double post, but I think this "got lost" in the formaster in action-trhread...
Assuming that my arm is not moving forward after release when using a formaster, is the back tension then "perfect", or are there still improvments to look for?

Look at this. Any comments on my form are welcome!

Yes, if the draw side elbow does not move forward upon release...you have maintained needed back tension...also check what the bowhand is doing...if the bow stays pointed at target, you maintained back tension in the bow side as well.

Thank you for that, and thanks for the masters of the barebow dvds. You have helped me a lot through them. By the way, is there anything in my form I should change, if you look at the link above?

IMHO...the only thing about your shot that I would consider changing form wise is......set the head position and draw the bow to that head position. Of course the slight "hunting for anchor" your doing in the vid, may be from using a new anchor that your not familiar with ?

:)  You are right about my new anchor... Not really used to it yet, but it works far better than my old one. I will work on setting my head in position before draw. Back to the blank bale!

Yes, any help is good! And I can really recommend you getting a formaster. I have only been using it for a week or so, and already especially my bowarm is much more steady than it was before, making the groups a lot smaller.
