Help with form

Any advice on these two shooting forms?  My son & I.

I can offer only a little advise on your son's form.  It looks like he is creeping right before the shot.  I cannot tell anything flawed in your form.  Others will chime in later.

I would agree with Koko about your son's form, and add that with yours, it doesn't appear that you are getting full extention with your drawing arm.

Over & Under, what do you mean by "full extension with your drawing arm". Do I need to push the shoulders back some more?

Terry,

The click here 2 link has been a wealth of info for me. Thank YOU so much. I have reached a crossroad to improvement until I read this and worked on some of the things you had suggested to others. I am close, a little more work and I will post pics for all to see and hope you can comment.

I'll post a video as soon as I can - of the new, improved me.  I'm already hitting the spot more regularly.  My son & have a 3D course set up in the yard with 5 places where we shoot at 3 targets.  Scoring at 5 for a kill and -1 for a wound, we can score a possible 75.  So yesterday, I scored 63 (2 wounds - and they were close!) with the adjusted technique.  We shoot from elevated positions, between branches, kneeling, standing, leaning around a corner etc, from 15 to 30 yards (no space for a longer shot).

OK, so eventually got ourselves sorted out.

You son's form looks pretty darn good.....but I do see a slight creep forward just before release.

The creep sometimes happens from contemplating the release. The actual visable linear motion stops at anchor, however the holding tension should be done (transfered)with the back. Instead of working on the creep or release, my suggestion is to have him work on the follow through (release is part of the follow through). Have him maintain the back tension for 3 seconds after the release.

You may also want to look at the bow shoulder. Consider a scooping motion of the shoulder as the bow is brought up and push foward with the palm (don't forget elbow rotation). It should be first down and then foward. If it is done right, you may feel a stretch accross the bottom of the tricept.
