It looks like you might not be following through as well as you could. kind of looks like you are moving the bow to see the shot. Try to maintain the "point" with your bow and hand to the target, a little longer following the shot. Be confident that your arrow will hit where you point, see if that helps with your group, and consistency.

jeff yea i kinda noticed that in the vids and thinking back on it my best shots ended looking through the bow. I guess its just part of the compound wearing off lol.... takes the arrow a little longer to get gone....

I agree with Sinistral's point about the follow through. Concentrate on keeping your bow and bow hand/arm rock solid until after the arrow reaches the target.
Your draw hand looks pretty good.
Welcome to the traditional archery world. Have fun.

Work up close 5' or so. draw get a solid anchor pause put some back tension on it and release and follow through. how solid you get your form now will make alot of difference latter. have fun and enjoy.

Brandon,

I'm no expert, but sure can pick up on someone else doing the same things that I do. I agree with what Cecil said. Work up close, and concentrate on NOT allowing your release hand to loose contact with the side of your face. That will help your follow through.

I was told by someone that shoots a LOT better than I do "When you release the arrow with your fingers, just allow them to point towards your target". That, helped me more than anything else ever has with my "plucking".

You are really not that far off.....with what you are doing. When you change something, DO NOT change more than one thing until whatever it was becomes "second nature"....it should happen without any conscious thought on your part.

Also, when I address the target, I do so by pointing my bow shoulder directly at the target.

The essential form, isn't as much different from shooting a compound, as some would like to believe it is.

Hang in there.......you'll get there.

Thanks guys in case you havn't noticed i'm sort of a perfectionist. I know the more time I take to learn it correctly the longer I will enjoy it!
This is so much more fun than compound its rediculous. I'm trying to trade my wheelie bow set up for a trad set up... I have 2 arrows and the Pearson cougar bow...

I really think a nice custom bow and choice arrows would make all the difference. What do you guys think?
