Set-Up for three under?

This is a great forum, I need to know how to set my Bear grizzly up to shoot 3 under, coming from split finger. I have a gut feeling this could be the MISSING link for me after 18 years. Where do I square on string, nock, ect. Can I not use a nock and just build it up with floss? Best to you and yours; Ravenwolf;

Generally speaking, I have to nock 1/8 - 1/4" higher for 3 under than for split fingers.  My typical nocking point for split fingers would be 1/2", where my typical nocking point for 3 under would be 3/4".  I would move up or down from there based on the results of bare shaft tuning.

I use tied-on nocks, which you can make out of floss, serving thread, or bowstring thread.  Most of us who shoot 3 under nock both above and below the arrow, as arrows shot 3 under have been known to move.

When I measure the nocking point, I measure from the square position on the bowsquare (the line that would intersect the shelf or arrow rest) to the bottom of the nock that is above the arrow.

I shoot three under. All of my bows seem to like a nock height of 5/8 inch.

Finding your best nock height is a fairly simple task. Go to the Elite Arrows website and look up how to paper tune.

I use 1/2" wide tape to put a temporary nock point on my string both above and below the arrow nock. Then I shoot through the paper, look at the results, and if I need to I take off the tape and put it back on in a different location until I get clean holes through the paper indicating that I am tuned.

I then take a measurement with my bow square, write it down, and take off the tape. I can then tie on floss nock points and set them with super glue. I always use a floss point both above and below the arrow nock. It is easier to tie on floss nocking points if you get the flat dental floss. It's just easier and more precise to work with. After I tie off the floss, I burn the tag ends with a match before I apply the super glue.

This method works very well.

I have paper tuned compound bows and I understand how to paper tune them. I am new to the traditional world. when I shoot my recurve it takes several yard for my arrow to straighten out. My arrow has a back and forth flight before it straightens out.
