Teach me to pay attention.
« on: March 05, 2011, 11:48:00 PM »
Yup, I shot better rounds of Golf than I did today shooting my bow & I could never keep the ball inside of the fareway unless I picked it up & threw it twords the flag..

My daughter Erin & I shot the Mid Atlantic NFAA Indoor today.
Erin being her first ever real tournament this was a real challenge & like many she made quite a few missed shots & some mistakes, but me who have been to these tournaments & have made my own share of flub ups kept looking at Erin's target as she shot then look at mine & make a bad shot, do it again & make a bad shot.
Let's just put it this way, I made a score that is too embarrasing to mention all because my concentration level was all on what my daughter was doing.

There was one end, 2 ends after the targets were swapped top to bottom, Erin shot all her arrows into the wrong target, after my shooting I had to tell her the score she made & calm her down but then she made a big no no & all she could do was cry & walk away, took everything in me to stay on the line to finish my end but I will give her credit she come back & did finish that end pretty strong & finished pretty good for her first ever tournament.

My lesson, don't pay attention to another persons target especially if it's family till I'm done shooting the end.

Erin learned some good lessons tonight & hopefully has more of a drive to improve her abilities, also I think we bonded pretty good.
