Split Finger Fat Lip
« on: March 22, 2011, 06:49:00 PM »
Hey guys I'm heading into my second year or traditional archery. For the first year I shot three under and it worked great for me. For the past couple of weeks I have been shooting split finger and it feels amazing (Doesn't hurt my finger, I can hold my anchor better etc..) and my group have actually gotten tighter (surprisingly compared to what other people have experienced in the reverse effect) But my problem is I anchor with my bottom (ring) finger in the corner of my cheek and my middle finger has been hitting my top lip and giving me a fat lip.. Is there anything I could do to help this? I dont want to change my anchor or my gap will be too big at close range but I'm in love with split finger shooting now and refuse to change ha HELP!!

I figured out my problem! After picking apart the entire shooters forum I decided to make a Formaster. Took me about ten minutes and it was 100% free (gotta love it). Turns out after using the formaster and taking some video of myself that I was not coming to full draw. So to better my form I am now anchoring with my nose on the feather and my thumb on my ear lobe (Rick Welch's) I have since not touched my lip and my groups have gotten tighter! I know no one replied on this post but I would just like to thank everyone for giving me the right material to learn through the entire forum!
