Back tension and over drawing feeling?
« on: April 19, 2011, 02:10:00 PM »
I've been working on my back tension quite a bit for a year now. I know its the key to improving my shooting because when I feel like I'm getting it right my shots are more consistent.Meaning my left and right misses go away and I get good arrow flight. My problem is I dont feel like I'm getting as clean of a release as I should be still. It feels like I'm way over drawing the bow to get my release. And my release still isnt smooth. Like I might be having trouble triggering the shot. I think I have back tension right I have been using the things I learned in Masters of the Barebow 3! I'm squeezing the shoulders and moving my drawing elbow back. Maybe I need a clicker?
I shoot 3 under, top finger on cheek bone, middle finger corner of the mouth with thumb under the jaw bone, with slight cant of the bow, using a glove for some back ground info.
Any help apprieciated. Thanks!

Doug make sure you are not opening your fingers, just relax them. Better yet try relaxing your entire forearm or even as far as your right side.

Old doesn't start until you hit three figures...and then it's negotiable
