Hello guys, I am new to this forum and relatively new to the bowing.
I've been shooting selfwood 50 pound longbow for the past two months. I have few questions about the proper shooting:
1. Split finger shooting vs three under. I like split finger shooting and at first that is what I was doing. However, I noticed that even though I wear protective glove I hurt my point finger and take some skin off of it after a day of shooting. I am positive it is because of the knock point on the string. I've been doing three fingers under for the past few weeks, but still wonder how do people overcome hurting their point finger on the split finger technic?
2. First few weeks when I was shooting I was not hitting my arm at all, but for the past month or so I've been hitting my arm a lot and ordered arm guard to protect the arm. The string hitting armguard at the very top - probably 1.5-2" below the elbow.
I think I was not hitting my arm earlier as I was not keeping my arm as straight as I do now. Is this good or bad?
Do I hit so high up the arm with the string because my brace point too high?
