Hybrid Longbow Grip
« on: January 27, 2012, 10:10:00 PM »
Folks, I shoot a Leon Stewart Slammer Special, a Hybrid Longbow. I remember that a Recurve grip would be loose between the index and thumb mainly. I always believed that you held a longbow with a much firmer grip and use the whole palm. How do you grip your longbow?

I shoot my Stewart Slammer's and Pronghorns with the same grip (closed full grip, whole palm). My fingers and thumb are wrapped around the bow grip, but not tight.
The work praises the man.

Ditto that..i grip my longbow just as i've been taught to hold many other hand held weapons that require skill and finess..like one might hold a bird..fully captured but not so tight that it can't breath.
