Ronald, NEED pictures. It sounds like you are too far back but without actually seeing it is impossible to tell for sure.
I can say, that by getting too far back, so the string is on the side of your face, that shots tend to be to the left for a right handed archer. The string is recommended to be in your vision and the nock of the arrow under your eye, not off to the side. Not saying that what you may be doing won't work, just that it could be problematic.
Need to see your "natural draw" too, as that could mean a lot of things.
