Very Big Thank You to Moebow!
« on: October 06, 2012, 08:12:00 AM »
Was having lots of trouble with consistency...tried blaming it on my bow...good excuse to buy a new one...tried blaming it on my arrows...but after watching some of Moebow's videos I realized that my problem was with my form.  In one of his videos he makes the statement that "form trumps equipment every time"...that pushed me to stop blaming my equipment and realize that I was the problem.  Can't tell you how much it has helped me!

I will probably never be a really good shot, but because Moebow takes the time to pass along his knowledge, I am a much better shot than I was and I am getting more consistent with my shot placement each shooting session.

Thanks Moebow!  You're the best.

ArkyMorg,

Thank you so much for taking the time to post such kind words!!  I get great satisfaction from hearing that some of my suggestions help some of you.  That is the only intent of the videos.  To give you IDEAS to try and hopefully one or two of the ideas will help you improve and enjoy your archery more.

Arne, that's kind of what I am doing, getting ideas from your suggestions and adapting them to my personal shooting style.  Rather than trying to completely change everything, I'm only working on small changes one at a time, trying to get them down (if they work for me) before moving on the next one.

I really like that you emphasize that the idea is not to shoot exactly like you, just adapting the good basic form that you teach to my own shooting style, at least that's the gist of what I get from your videos.

Mitch - Arne's videos are posted on youtube under his screen name Moebow1.  They are free for the watching and have helped countless numbers of shooters.  I am eternally grateful for Arne's videos, and his willingness to help us all become better shooters.

Moebow I would like to thank you also. This is only my first day shooting a bow in my life and I am getting great groups because of your videos. Yesterday I was shooting alright groups but had alot of strays. I watched your videos last night and tried out your techniques today and wow it works great for me. Thank you so much for the help.

Jdaigle33,

Again thank you I am glad they are helping you!!  Just a word of caution though.  One day is REALLY just a beginning.  As you develop you will find that some of it will be really good and other parts maybe not so good.  You will also find that there will be days where NOTHING seems right.  That is the time to NOT change anything.  Archery form needs several weeks to set in or for you to decide it (the form item) is not working.

Never decide on something with just one practice session! Make all your decisions based on 2 or 3 weeks of solid practice before trying something new and then give that "something new" another 2 or 3 weeks worth of effort.
