Form Video Critique Me Please
« on: April 10, 2013, 11:00:00 PM »
I have only been shooting trad for a few months so my form is not very good. Please tell me what I can do better.

Blue,

If only a few months, you are doing very well.  There is only one thing I would say at this point and you may not be able to do this until you can get outside.

In your back and front views, look closely at your shoulders and bow arm.  They are in a nice straight line but that line is not perpendicular to your spine. If there is a "magic" angle in archery keeping the bow arm 90* to the spine is it! I know you have ceiling clearance problems in your basement but IF you can lift your target up so it is up at shoulder level it will help.  Either that or you will have to wait until you can get outside.

I think you will find more strength and stability in your shot if you can get that angle. And less "wobbling" at full draw.

Otherwise, I really like your shot in general.

Are you willing to give up what you are; to become what you could be?

Arne thanks I will definitely work on that. I shoot quite a bit outside too so I will try to figure that out.

I agree with moebow.
You've got weird 'kink', looks uncomfortable...

Flex your abs... Let the front side of your pelvis  rotate up and think about drawing your navel to your spine... I bet it increases your draw length and stability.

Say What?!

Fundamental for proper body alignment, regardless of what your doing.
