Over Drawing
« on: February 09, 2014, 11:48:00 AM »
I have been in a slump here latey, accuracy has falling way off. I noticed yesterday, I was drawing to the side of my face, string and arrow are not in line with my eye. Is this what you would call over drawing.I hope I asked this right.

Thanks Sam

In general, yes, that is what I would say is overdrawing.  It, of course depends on physical stature AND the style you are pursuing.

If you pull too far, the arrow nock must travel along the side of your face and then will not be below the eye.

Others will jump in here with a bazillion examples of folks doing that and shooting well, YEP that's very possible/likely.

Since you are using or have used the arrow nock under the eye, then what you describe can be a cause of loss of accuracy.

Thanks Arne I was hoping you would reply. I have a 26" draw I guess I have been, trying to get more. Your videos have helped me a lot.

Thanks again Sam

Why are trying to lengthen your DL? If it's right for you, then 26" *is* your DL. Lengthening it because you think you need to doesn't help anything.
