Elmer,

I can see your videos on both my iPad and my android phone BUT NOT here on my computer -- go figure.  I have a question into both Firefox and Photobucket -- something is wacky!

If anyone reading or following this has any ideas, I'm all ears!!!

Your shot is looking pretty good right now.  Two things for you to look at.

First, your stance is very casual.  In these latest videos, you have all your weight on the right leg.  Try (if you are able) to set your weight equally on BOTH feet.  that will help to stop the lean into the bow string that you are getting.

Second, (look at your side view video) you are still hyper extending your bow shoulder, bow arm and bow hand towards the target.  Watch as you raise the bow to draw.  As soon as you have raised up, that is where your bow arm should stay.  Like your arm is a 2X4 beam just pressing into your relaxed shoulder.

BUT as you draw, watch how you press the shoulder and arm out towards the target.  You can see how far by comparing to the light coming through the gaps in the tree leaves behind you.  You are pressing a good 2 or 3 inches and that is destabilizing your bow arm.  See how it kind of wobbles at full draw?

Relax that bow shoulder, let your arm bones take the load and do not press forward to the target.  that is another reason you are getting string/shirt contact.

See if that helps any.  In the mean time, I will keep my iPad handy until I figure out why I can't see the videos from Photobucket on my nice 30" screen and have to use  the much smaller screens.  If you could, maybe the next videos could be on You Tube or drop box?

Arne I understand the comments about bow shoulder but some of the other videos I have watched state to continue pushing bow arm toward target. Therefore I am kind of confused.

I know I am not doing the same thing every shot because out of 10 arrows even though I am shooting blank bale I will have 3 to 4 go 8 to 10 from side to side of all the others.

Even though it feels lie am repeating the process.

For a few days, just let the bow arm be a 2X4 brace between the bow and the shoulder.  Don't push, just let that bow arm be a solid beam and see what happens.

The "push" idea that you've seen is connected to an older method that is actually called "push/pull".  Many have shot well with this method.  But again, if you watch your videos closely, at full draw you can see the bow arm loose stability and also see the bow wobble back and forth.

We really aren't made to extend in that manner and there are no big muscles to make it happen, just little muscles.  Allow the lion's share of the work to be done with bones and then the big muscles of the string side back do the job of drawing.

I did not realize there was so much to remember to have good form.  But I am at least improving I think.

Arne I know you stated to hold my head straight up but doesn't Mr. Green clock  picture show he bends his head down some?

Yes he does but not as much as it might appear.  But Terry is a VERY experienced archer and has adjusted things to suit.

There is a difference between learning and actually employing your form.  And YES, initially there are a LOT of things to try to remember.  What I am suggesting for you is an attempt to give you the tools to learn.  After a while, it will become natural and you too will find certain things that work better for you.

While learning, using a very specific shot sequence (one that you think through on EVERY shot) will get you to a point where you don't have to think about it as much-- it will be pretty automatic.

So, for now, try to lift the bow to target and then stop all bow side movement (don't press forward) and draw with that string side shoulder only (remember the string forearm moving straight in to your face by pulling the shoulder back).  You "think" movement on the string side only to accomplish the draw.

Watching your side form video I see that you are still pulling with your arm and not the shoulder area. This shows in the slow motion  where you pull back so far and then pull back again before release, almost a mini collapse if you will. Try and loosen the tension in the string arm and pull starting with the shoulder blade. The best way to explain is you should feel the muscle under the scapula move as you pull yours does not look like it is.

By watching this video I think I am using back muscles since the scapula does protrude some at full draw in the video.

This photo of full draw from above shows arrow in yellow and string arm in red are not quite parallel to each other. Try as I might I can not rotate the elbow to the rear another inch. Anyone have any idea to get more rotation.

I like to think of there being a door behind me that I am going to close with my elbow. That usually gets the last little bit. it also feels like the lats between the scapula and the spine kind of come together and settle into position. I don't know if that makes any sense.
