Using a sight while shooting 3 under

Hello everybody,

First off, I'd like to say that if this is off topic, I apologize.

Anyway, I was all set to start using a sight on my bow so I could focus on my form, I've used toothpicks and tape before, but wanted to move to something a bit more substantial. I've always liked the look and ease of the old single pin sights and saw that Bateman's carries one, so I was ready to get one.

However, I've run into a concern. It was recently brought to my attention that shooting 3 under is not recommended when using a sight, since it limits your distances severely due to the arrow moving closer to your eye.

I'm curious as to whether or not anyone has had success using a sight and shooting 3 under.

Several people have recommended using a sight pin to me in order to learn three under and gapping.  I would think the size of the sight window would matter more than anchor point when using a sight, and unless you are planning to shoot really long range (+50 maybe) I don't see why you wouldn't have enough room to move the pin around using three under.  Using the index finger at the corner of the mouth rather than the middle finger will add a few yards.

It'd be going on a Martin Hunter, so I don't think the sight window would be considered small.

I already anchor with my index finger at the corner of my mouth too, so that'd be a non-issue.

I guess for 5 bucks it's worth a try...
