My hunting set up. (pic)
« on: November 24, 2007, 01:39:00 PM »
Well it has been a long time comming, since last christmas to be exact. I finally got to hunt with my bow yesterday morning. Although i didnt see anything it was fun. I ordered a blank from Dryad-1 for me and 1 for my bro-His has been finished for months now, but i have had a spell of bad luck. A back injury in may kept me from doing much all summer and fall, and i have been sick for over a month to boot.
Everything in this pic is hand crafted except the arrow. My bro and i trapped the beaver, made the turtle shell turkey call-which works better than most commercial ones, the coarse and fine powder horns, horse hide possible bag, shot bag, and a hand crafted knife my father made for each of his boys.

we will post more pics as we get them. those pics were taken with a camera phone, so we could not get the entire bow in the shot.  let me give yall some info on those bows:

they are hedge backed with bamboo, and have cocobola for riser and tips. we made a flemish string to put on each of them... mine was alot easer to make than pintails, and it ended up at 67# pull and pintails ended up at 54# (I believe, there was some trouble there it should have came out around 65# or so.) both have a 26" draw, and we can hold a 2" group at 25 yds.

with in the last 2 weeks we trapped 2 nice big coyotes that we are going to turn into quivers. hopefully they turn out ok!
