Bow setups?

I was thinking and thought this would be a good topic, on your different bows how do you shoot where your looking with different setups and different bows? Such as using different weight s and arrows? Doesn't your brain have to adjust?

No, not if you're in control of the shot.  A 35# bow shooting 9 gpp will shoot (about) the same speed as an 80# bow shooting 9ggp.

The rest is (mostly) dependent on form (alignment) and properly tuned arrows.

I have six bows now, and there IS some adjustment...albeit slight...between some of them. The majority of my hunting bows are all 45# Bears, so they shoot the same spine woody arrows and are pretty interchangeable. Most of my practice is done using my 35# Tamerlane shooting 395gr carbons, so yes, there is a slight adjustment factor. My suggestion would be to find your ideal DW and stick with it on all your hunting bows.

I don't intend to start any arguments between gap and instinctive.  I shoot both ways, at times, and enjoy it either way.  I also shoot several different bows, all with slightly different trajectories.  When I pick up a bow I haven't shot in a while, I try to remember the gaps.  If I can remember them, I just use those gaps.  Form is the same for every shot, near or far.  If I can't remember the gaps, a couple of shots at 50 yards will remind me.  If one bow is point on at 50 yards, and another one I have to hold a yard high at 50 yards, that gives me the basic info I need to shoot at closer ranges.  The longer I shoot a particular bow, the better I get with it, until finally I'm just pointing and shooting, which sort of becomes instinctive, I guess.

YEP......BUT.....

That 35# bow will have no where near the same power as the 80# bow at the same grains per inch.....again,no where near.   Same speed yes, if same design, but not the same performance on penetration by far. Just wanted to make that clear.
