From what you say here, assuming that you're right handed, I'd say it sounds like your arrows are stiff...or as I said before, there's a problem with how you are shooting. Oh, and your nock point might be too low causing the arrow to bounce. I'd get it high enough that I know it's not too low and take care of the horizontal issue.

In another thread you just asked how to know if you're overdrawing. That gives me the impression that you're putting the cart before the horse...spending too much time and effort tuning instead of ironing out your shooting. I't really hard to do much in the way of tuning if you're not settled in how you are going to shoot the bow.

I am shooting a similar arrow as yours. Are you shooting 3 under or split finger? Look for arrow rest wear. Have you spun test your broadhead arrows? Paper tested? I only shoot broadheads, in practice as well as hunting situations. The way that I figure it, arrows tipped with the same weight, but are different in shape will more than likely fly differently in my opinion.

according to the spine calcultor i should be shooting a 145 grain head with standard insert, i tried a 100 grain stinger i had with a 50 grain brass insert, flight is good no diving i just impact 5 inches left at 30 yards but i suspect im slightly stiff needing the extra 15 grains to make 165, 3 rivers and stu millers chart are saying this weight any suggestions?

I forgot to tell you something in my last posts. But check your nocks on your string to see how loose or tight they are. If they are to tight you can have big time flight issues. I learned this the hard way. If your shooting carbons most likely the nocks are to tight. If you put an arrow on then hold it facing down you should be able to give it a small tap to make it fall off. If not they're to tight and you need to address it. You can use sand paper but be careful not to  take to much off.

I'm a little confused; if your bare shafts fly like darts with 200 grain heads,do they fly different with fletching? Or are you looking for them to fly according to whats the calculator "says"?

Don't think you can get much better than "flying like darts", regardless of what anything or anyone else suggests as being the best setup.

If you have any .340 shafts, try them out with the broadheads. Or try that Stinger with just the aluminum insert ( to stiffen that .400).  I have very little luck with charts. Trial by fire has worked best for me.

My RER bows needed stiffer shafts than you are using.

I tried several different calculators and have always found them to give different results. I have several different make of shafts, different weights, different spines and I have always found these calculators to be off. One can drive themselves nuts in trying to make the exact calculated weight computed by these calculators. Nothing beats good ole' ground work, patience and trial & error. Keep it simple and don't over think it.
