Totally consumed, that is what the verdict was! And the cinnianomalies must be freshly grated.  :D

So, Bart, did you end up picking more berries last night?  :bigsmyl:
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Now that just ain't fair at all Killy! Everybody ought to know the feeling of having a bunch of chiggers take up residence in yer crotch at least once!  "[tunglaff]"

The pie looks great Bart! I haven't had a really good blackberry cobbler since my granny (God bless her lovin' heart) passed away.  :(

Oh and I'll give ya another quick and similar dutch oven recipe for cobbler. I had this in the recipe section and somebody/moderater deleted it

Take any fruit in heavy syrup (16oz can)
I box yella cake mix
and 1 can sprite or 7up

Line oven with foil for easy clean up.

Pour in fruit, pour cake mix fairly evenly over fruit, pour soda around into cake mix (no need to mix it up).

I use charcoal for this because it's easier to regulate the heat and put 15 briquets on the top and 13 underneath (That will give you right at 375 degrees) for about 20 minutes.

Good stuff and you don't have to dig no holes
All the best to you,

Gotta love the Sprite!  Someone should write a Cooking-With-Sprite Cookbook  :)

Yes, I did get to go picking again... this time I brought a partner, my pal Sadie.  Notice the Carhardt Berry-Picking Overalls and the stained fingers!

That's right darlin, Sprite! It's great!

I'll be making up a show schedule next spring and if you are going to be coming to one where we will be set up, let me know and I'll be happy to make you one on the spot!

I love your buddy Bart. I'm a sucker for a pretty hound. I raised, hunted, trained, and sold beagles for about 15 years. When my best dog was killed it just took the heart out of me for it and I gave it up  :(

Tracy, I would be plumb tickled! I only make two shoots a year, and I hope to see you cooking at one or both of them. I will bring a fork.

I was razzing Bart, as he has cooked me many a meal with Sprite as his "secret" ingredient. Yesterday I found these by smell, from 40 yards! It would have been churlish of me to spurn such a fine gift, right?

Sadie looks as though she might be tempted to try those berries, Bart. Not a bad thing to have a motivated hunting dog!

Ooh! I forgot to tell you! I saw two eight pointers on the backside of the place I walk! There were deer tracks in the road, leading toward me. They stopped and stood (one deer's worth of tracks, as far as I could tell) for a bit, then I saw where the deer had gone into the tall grass leading to cedars and autumn olive. I figured that I had caused a doe to detour. I stood on the path, piddling with some stuff, and these boys couldn't take it anymore. They came boiling out from 20 yards away, and all I could do was watch them. And smile! They ran a hundred yards, crossed the trail ahead of me and went into the swampy cover on the other side.
