Easy Cobbler

O.K. so I'm always bringing my cobbler deserts to Cloverdale and MOJam and folks wanna know how I make it. Well here it is. You ready?

For each 9X13 pan (elcheapo foil disposo kind) you will need the following:
* 1 box of white cake mix
* 2 cans of pie filling
* 2 sticks of butter (better for you than margarine, actually)

Preheat oven to 375 deg.

Spread the pie filling evenly in the bottom of the pan. Pour the cake mix over the filling and use a fork or something to even it out. Melt the 2 sticks of butter in a suitable vessel. (about 1 min. in the micro) Pour the butter over the top of everything and tilt the pan back and forth until it has coated all of the cake mix. It may not cover it all but it will soak in as it bakes. Pop it in the oven. Check it in about a 1/2 hour when it starts smelling real good in the house. Bake until golden brown on top. (It helps to slide the pan out onto a cookie sheet to carry it around, as the foil is flimsy.) It's good warm or cold and gauranteed to raise your cholesterol 10 points. That's all there is to it!

This is a great dessert.  Can be done in dutch oven with charcoal or coals from fire.  I usually just cut butter into patties and place evenly on top of cake mix
