I love to make this appetizer for fellow sportsmen. It always gets then talking and looking at me funny...
1 lb bacon (cut in half)
1 sliced sweet onion
1-2 lbs venison
1 bottle of sesame ginger salad dressing
bamboo skewers
Slice venison into 1"wide by 2" long chunks and marinate overnight in 2/3rds of the dressing.
Take a piece of bacon, place an onion and piece of venison and roll up. Stick on skewer (6 to a stick.) Leave room in between each roll to cook. Cook on a hot gril until the bacon is crisp and baste with the rest of the dressing. Remove from the stick and serve.
I usually cook these at night when they can quite see what I'm doing and they have a few pops in them. It makes the story more believeable.
Your buddies will gain a whole new appreciation for the sister of the rocky mountan oyster.
Enjoy,
Glenn
