Ham & beans
« on: December 04, 2008, 08:02:00 AM »
I think the only good beans are smoked beans. I take a bag of no. beans soak overnite,in the morning drain water and add new water. Threw in a ham bone ( left over from whatever we didnt cut off of bone in ham we have had made meals out of before.) Dice up onion, and chunck up 4 nice size taters, salt and pepper and pepper. fill pan up with water so they dont boil dry. Cover with tin foil, cook for approx.5 hrs.@275-300. Last 1/2 hour loosin tin foil so smoke can get in beans. Than take out of cooker mix up cornbread w/3/4 cup sugar and puor it on beans about a 3/4 in. thick cover loosly with foil cook @ 350 till cornbread is done. Hope you like it.- Rod
